3 Sports Betting Tips to Pick the Best Sportsbook and Sportsbetting Service by Sandy Ford-Graham

There are a lot of ways to bet on sports and you may have your favorite bets and sports that you like to play. Finding a good sportsbook is half the battle or maybe even more than that. Getting good service and odds as well as a reload bonus or break on the juice will keep you loyal to a book more often than fancy advertising or empty promises.

Are you satisfied with the book you are using now? I recently asked ten of my friends if they were satisfied with their book and to my surprise, every one of them said they were not completely satisfied.

"Why stay with them?" I asked.

The answers I got all pretty much were along the line that they had tried other bookmakers and the one they were using now was the lesser of all evils. In other words, the best of the bunch, but not anything to write home about.

I think that is sad. Sportsbetting for profit is hard enough without having the bookmakers against you. I realize that they are "against" you, but they should beat you with better handicapping, not crappy service or lousy odds or juice that no one can overcome.

Therefore, I have a few recommendations when choosing a good online sportsbook. Naturally these tips are only for people who live where online sportsbetting is legal. Here is a real big tip and the first thing you should realize.

1. A book that will break the law and take your action when you are in a place where betting online is illegal, is on shaky ground to start with. They may run into legal problems and have to shut down quickly and guess who won't get paid? Also, if you have a dispute, who are you going to run to for help? Where bookmaking online is legal there are licensing boards who protect the players, such as the ACT in Australia. If you bet illegally online you are really gambling in more ways than one.

2. When I open a sportsbook with an odds maker I like to get my own personal representative or at least get the name of a rep. when I am dealing with customer service. Here is a big tip. When you open a book, find a reason to contact customer service with a small problem. See how they handle it. A small problem should still be important enough for them to come to your aid in a reasonable amount of time. If they can't be bothered, close the book and move on.

3. Obviously, you're looking for a sportsbook that is going to stand the test of time so ask about reloads and ongoing bonuses. Some sportsbetting services will offer a great bonus or free bet to get you, but then, once you've gone through the trouble of opening an account, they forget your name. The ones that want to keep you happy are the ones who will give you an even break, and let's face it, in sportsbetting, that is all most of us want.
